Plot
The story's plot is set in a town in Chennai. Prabhakaran, an inspector gets transferred in Chennai. He believes in justice for all. However, during his posting he took an oath to make the city clean by wiping off all the criminals. Daali and chitthe are two ruthless criminals who spread violence all over town. They were controlling the market with the help of their uncle, who was a retired gangster. Their uncle still holds great power in the society.
During a police operation agianst uncle, Prabhakaran and other officers caught Daali’s brother, Cockroach. Prabhakaran kills Cockroach in an encounter. Angered by this, Daali decided to take revenge. He and Chitthe shoot Prabhakaran and his fiancée during their morning walk. Unfortunately, Prabhakaran survives but his fiancée died in crossfire. Depressed by this, Prabhakaran decides to take revenge and begins hunting Daali and his assistants down. He kills everyone, including Chitthe. When Daali gets this news, he directly sends his assistants to kill Prabhakaran, but Prabhakaran kills them all. He then crashes into Daali’s birthday party. Prabhakaran kills Daali in their direct combat, taking revenge of his fiancée’s death.
Star performance
The main character of the story is Prabhakaran. Vikram Prabhu plays his character. Vikram beautifully depicts Prabhakaran as an inspector who cares about his society and believes in wiping off criminals. However, at many scenes his acting was problematic. His acting skills doesn’t support intense film.
Other important characters are Rishi Rithvik as Daali and Soundararaja as Chitti. Both of them delivered a fantastic performance in the movie. Roles of villains are play by them. Other supporting actors that are Ananthika Sanilkumar, Selvaah, Hareesh Peradi, and Daniel Annie Pope delivered problematic performances. Throughout the film, they acted like they are forced to act in the scenes.
Analysis
Raid can be a better film. The plot is about an inspector, Prabhakaran who wipes criminals off the city. However, the script of the film is straightforward yet unrealistic. In many action scenes the officers are killing criminals without using any weapons. It showed them as some kind of superheroes with special powers. Therefore, the film is full of silly actions. The film is entirely based on violence, killing of non-deserving innocent people. The film’s direction by it’s director Karthi is very horrible. If the execution were better, the movie would’ve been a hit.
The screenplay is also not very good. Throughout the movie, the background doesn’t match the on going scene. It has terrible cinematography. Not only this, chemistry between actors is missing. In fact, the main lead Vikram Prabhu delivered problematic acting. He is not fit for the role. The film has a problematic script as it is predictable, which makes it a dull movie. The supporting cast have also delivered terrible performance making the film worse. However, on a positive side the musical tracks are enjoyable, fun.

The plot is pretty unrealistic and boring which is hard to visualise. The lead and supporting actors have delivered terrible performance. Therefore, it’s not worth the time.
