Plot

Fernando has several varieties of dogs and one among them is a Siberian Husky. One of the husky puppies was born blind and hence Fernando orders his people to kill the puppy, as he feels it as useless. Luckily, the puppy escapes from them. Arjun, a school-kid, sees the puppy and names him Simba. He is from a middle-class family, where his father Shankar finds a bit hard to manage his family. However, he shower love and care for his son, which he didn’t get from his father. Soon, Arjun becomes close with Simba and Shankar spends a lot to bring vision to Simba. They succeed in their attempt to bring vision to the puppy and trains Simba for a competition. Soon, Fernando meets Shankar and demands Simba for a huge sum. What was Shankar’s decision? The rest of the film deals wih it.

Star Performance

Arun Vijay has given a decent performance. His son Arnav has done a good job in his debut. Vinay has nothing significant to play, yet he appeared a good old baddie.

Analysis

The director has brought a good script with a good set of actors. But, he hadn’t concentrated well on the screenplay. If the screenplay had been designed well, the film would have touched heights. The flashback scenes are interesting and Arun Vijay has done a good job. The characters are well designed too. Suriya’s banner has been producing story and performance-oriented films and OMD is the latest addition. The cinematography and the BGM are good. The production values are quite decent.

Verdict

With a heart-touching story and good performers, Sarov has given a decent entertainer that satisfy adults and kids. Though it has a few flaws, Oh My Dog is an one-time watch!
