Kashmora is the one of the highly anticipated flicks of 2016 and it falls under multiple genres. Now let’s see whether this Karthi-Nayantara- Sri Divya starrer works wonders on us.

Plot

The movie begins with a fantasy story of yesteryears i. e. it took place 700 years ago due to a curse. Then the movie comes to the present century with the introduction of actor Karthi Sivakumar as Kashmora. He is seen handling the people’s craze of voodoo. Sri Divya essays the role of a Ph.D student who is trying to reach Karthi. She is performing research on soccery.

Then the flashback scenes are shown and the war scenes are shown there. When the war stops Raja Nayak (Karthi again) is introduced along with Ratnamahadevi (Nayantara). The flashback scenes stop with a twist and the plot comes to present day. Watch the movie to see how it unfolds.

Star Performances

Karthi has given an earnest performance in Kashmora. Vivek’s comedy track is appealing. Nayantara and Sri Divya has done a neat job in the movie.

Analysis

Kashmora has an engrossing concept. Moreover, a technology called “3d face scan” has been used in this flick which makes it appealing. The director Gokul has used the comedy track with no dearth of logic.

Kashsmora is executed in a neat manner. The genre of horror comedy is sure to please the crowds since such films were appreciated.

What’s there?

  • There is plethora of humorous satires in the movie.
  • The war episodes are one of the highlights of the movie.
  • The comedy element is good in the movie. 
  • Santhosh Narayan’s music is appealing. 

What’s not there?

  • Though the comedy works in favor of the movie it is lengthy in some places. 
  • The movie is somewhat dragged.

Verdict

The movie is a mix of horror, humor, and fantasy elements. Moreover, period genre is also added.  The director should be appreciated for taking up a new concept and executing it well. Karthi also scores in terms of performance.
