Plot

Velu works in a tea shop in Kadalur and saves money to build his tea stall. His family is his world, which includes his father, wife Kayalvizhi, and daughter Bommai. His half-brother, Sendhil, lives nearby, but he doesn’t have much contact with him, as their father married Velu’s mother, a low-caste woman. However, Sendhil has some affection for his brother. During a festival, Velu sees his daughter missing, and when searching, he finds a couple of abusers trying to assault the kid sexually. He wants to get justice and approaches Sendhil, his half-brother. But, was Sendhil able to help Velu, as the abusers belong to his community? The rest of the film follows what happened to Velu and his family.

Star Performance

The performance of the artists is adorable. Yogi Babu excelled in his role. He has proved again that he is not only a comedian but could also do emotional roles. The kid, Srimathi, Subathra, GM Kumar, and Arul Doss, did justice to the given roles. Madras Johnny fits well in the assigned role.

Analysis

Though there are a lot of films released with the child abuse concept, this one is slightly different. How caste plays a role in this is neatly shown. The societal drawbacks are shown well. Though the scenes look perfect from one perception, in the other, it seems rushed. The father and daughter relation is shown well. Similarly, the mental difficulties faced by a mother and father when their child is abused are showcased well. Subathra and Yogi Babu excelled in those heart-touching scenes. Harikrishnan’s role is well-scripted. Except for Yogi Babu and Harikrishnan’s roles, the rest of the characters didn’t have much stronger dialogues. The climax dialogues are excellent. The music and the visuals are pretty decent.

• A few loopholes, including a couple of forced comedy scenes

Verdict

The film showcases the injustice done to people in the name of caste. If you are interested in watching emotional dramas with some exciting performances, you can very well watch the film!
