MORE CAST & CREW
Thobama is an interesting movie with a different concept. Thobama is the second film of the trio.Sharafudheen, Siju Wilson, and Krishna Shankar.
Thobama is following three childhood friends Thommi, Balu, and Manaf. All three of them belong to a different class of the society yet their friendship is strong as ever. It’s 2007 and they want to earn good money for themselves to live a good and content life. But they want to make easy and fast money. They call themselves Thobama ( the initials of their names). What follows next are the ways they try to gain more money with shortcuts thus landing themselves in difficult and dangerous situations.
Thobama is interesting and entertaining but only to a certain limit. The movie catches its pace after some 20 minutes into the movie. The first half is quite entertaining with some comic scenes and interesting plot points, however, toward the second half it turns serious and has some tension scenes. The actors have done their best to justify the movie. The dynamic that the trio shares in Thobama are similar to that of Premam. Thommi is a businessman at heart and wants to make it big in business, Manaf wants to be a film star but is restricted due to his size and Balu is Mcom graduate whose life is woven around Thommi and Manaf. The boys decide to make quick money by joining a local gang. The journey is realistic. The story though turns a little serious towards the end has a realistic climax. The direction, cinematography and the background score is good. The feature also has good songs. Star Performances Thobama is driven by the three lead actors of the film. Though the film’s storyline isn’t that compelling their acting definitely is. The ensemble of the cast that they have has only superseded the film.
What’s Not There?
Thobama is not a complete entertainer but it has its own moments and they send a very important message to the youth. The movie has certain vital funny moments that make their boat sail the storm.
