Plot
The movie starts in 1964, when we see an old mansion. A man is going inside the mansion, and then he sees a girl in a white saree who is walking to a nearby well. Seeing this, the man gets scared and runs away from there. In the next scene, we see a man with some luggage going towards that building in a rickshaw. The rider is a writer who used to write stories based on actual events. We got to know that the man has come to live in the mansion which we have seen in the beginning of the movie. The rides come inside the mansion, and inspect the entire mansion. It looked like the mansion had not been in use for many years. He decides to make the postmaster aware of his name and address. Upon listening to the address, the postmaster gets scared because he knows that the mansion is haunted. Then the rider goes to a hotel nearby to order them to deliver food to his house three times a day. Again, when the guy at the counter got to know his address, he was shocked and refused to deliver food to the address. What is the story behind the mansion? Is the mansion haunted? The rest of the movie talks about it as a spine-chilling horror experience.
Star Performance
Rima Kallingal’s experience as Bhargavikutti is auspicious and optimistic. The rest of the actors also played their respective roles to perfection. Good VFX, songs, and background music add to the movie’s high standing.Â
Analysis
The movie starts on a good note and has great potential. However, the movie turns out to be neither fulfilling for horror nor for romance. Also, the movie didn’t have that gripping, engaging, and thrilling part. Then, the movie proceeds with a slow pace and drops the grip many a time. However, the acting delivered by all the cast members is satisfying, as they blend with the characters very well. Considering that the movie is a remake of the first part, the makers should have tried to make it entertaining to the current generation. The movie may make you feel unique with its effective cinematography, lighting, and CGI.
