Plot

Manu (Sharafudheen) is a government servant who lives with his mother and two younger sisters in Pathanamthitta district. His mother, Usha ( Bindu Panicker Bindu is an Indian movie actress who has predomina >> Read More... ), is an orthodox woman (Upper-caste Nair Hindu). Inter-caste marriage is like a crime in their family. Manu falls in love with Salabha (Arsha Baiju), the daughter of the Nair Service Society’s (NSS) President. To impress her father, Manu becomes secretary of the NSS wing. Before his marriage, Manu has to find a groom for his sister Meera (Rajisha Vijayan).

Manu’s younger sister, Meera, is very obedient and studious. She takes tuition classes and earn for her family. Manu also earns, but he is not responsible like Meera. Things become interesting when Manu and his friend Jose discover that Meera is in a relationship with a person who belongs to a different caste. Manu supports her sister and tries to convince his mother, Usha. But soon, they get to know that Meera has relationships with many people.

What will Manu do now? Will Meera get married? If not, what will happen to the love between Manu and Salabha?

Star Performance

Rajisha Vijayan gave the best performance. Her acting in the breakup scenes of the second half is outstanding. The way she cares for her family is very appealing to the viewers. Sharafudeen impresses the viewers with his comedy. His expressions look very realistic.

Arsha Baiju looks beautiful on screen. Bidhu Panicker executed the role of a mother perfectly. Saiju Kurup, who played the role of Jeevaraj, looks decent on screen. Althaf Salim and Vijayaraghavan tried their best for this film.

Analysis

Madhura Manohara Moham is the debut directorial film for costume designer Stephy Zaviour. Comedic elements are present in abundance. It also shows the inter-caste marriage issue in Kerala. Despite such a high literacy rate and modern thinking of the people, caste becomes a problem during the time of marriage in Kerala.

The first half is all about the Nair family and the different relationships between the family members. The real drama begins in the second half when Manu discovers that his sister has a boyfriend of a different caste.

However, the film’s ending is a little bit confusing. The second half is below the expectations of the viewers. The comedy fails in some scenes.

Verdict

Madhura Manohara Moham is an okayish film. The first half is superb. However, the story fails in the second half. If you want to laugh, then you can try this film.
