Plot
The film is about the 1996 Arrack (Alcohol) ban by the AK Antony government in Kerala. This ban disappoints the alcoholic villagers at Kochukadavu, and they look for alternative ways of alcohol consumption. Susheelan (Lal) is an alcohol dealer and is most affected by this.Â
Sathyan (Sunny Wayne), a chef in this village, falls in love with Susheelan’s daughter Meera (Arya). However, her father does not approve this love. Like every love story, Susheelan is the villain here. Sathyan tries to impress his future father-in-law.
Will he be successful in convincing Susheelan? What difficulties is he going to face ahead? What is the connection of French wine with this love story?
Star Performance
Lal delivers a fantastic performance. It is his best performance till now as compared to the previous films. From happiness to anger, he shows all the emotions in the right proportion. His expressions are outstanding.
Sunny Wayne steals the whole film. His dialogue delivery, acting, and expressions are outstanding. His hilarious scenes make the film entertaining. Besides comedy, he perfectly shows his seriousness in this film.
Chemban Vinod and Sasi Kalinga executed their parts perfectly. Both of them gave a decent performance. Navas Vallikkunnu gave a remarkable performance. The rest of the supporting cast tried their level best for this film.
Analysis
French Viplavam revolves around two plots- an alcohol ban on one side and a personal love story on the other side. Some of the scenes deserve a lot of praise, such as the scene where Susheelan’s wife tells him that their daughter is pregnant.
The film looks at the problem faced by drunkards due to a sudden alcohol ban in their village by the AK Antony government. The love track makes the film more interesting. The cinematography, music, and the leading cast performance hold the film firmly. The comedy is very entertaining.
However, the film has a weak script and fails to create a lot of excitement among the viewers.
