Plot

Namo Bootaathma revolves around the story of a man who works as a television salesman. He borrows money from a local don and lands himself in trouble as he cannot pay back the large amount of money he has borrowed. As a result, he is on the run. Luckily, this man inherits his father’s property which is a large beautiful mansion. He uses this property by renovating it and turning it into a hotel, along with the help of a caretaker. However, strange things start happening to the customers of his hotel. One by one, every customer who stays there eventually dies. The man is confused but realizes that the mansion is in fact, haunted. Once he realizes this, he fights the spirits haunting the hotel. The rest of the movie is about his struggle in battling the hotel’s spirits and how he tries to escape the local don whom he is hiding from.

Star Performance

Komal Kumar plays the protagonist, and he plays his role very well.

Nikitha’s performance was also impressive.

Analysis

First of all, Namo Bootaathma is too fast paced and secondly, the story lacks substance. However, the ghostbuster who comes in is the highlight of the movie because he lightens the atmosphere and adds more funny scenes. The horror aspect of the film is also good. Best part is that there is a good balance between the horror and comic elements in the film. It is a good blend because one genre does not overpower the other. However, the adult jokes in the movie were too many and bland. The sound effects were good but editing could be improved in many parts. The makeup of the ghost did not look professional, which also needs to improve. The ladies in the film did not have much character and only seemed to be the aesthetic part of the film. The rest of the supporting cast played their roles well. Dialogues were exciting and entertaining. Overall, the film is not perfect, but good.

Verdict

Movie is not so good but it is entertaining. Horror and comedy fans can watch but remember that it is not a family friendly movie as there are a lot of adult jokes. So I suggest that you not watch Namo Bootaathma with family.
