PLOT
Maya a divorced mother is a woman whose life revolves around her three children, Aleya, Ankush, and Anjali. She continues to have unpleasant encounters with the kids due to which the kids call her evil and one day she loses Anjali, after which Aman asks her never to go near his kids without Maya’s permission. To top it all, Maya learns that she has cervical cancer and does not have much time to live.
Upon learning this, Aman moves back to live with his family as he is aware that soon he will have to take care of them alone. The kids don’t react well to this news, and all is going down. Maya knows she has only a few days to live.
She loves her children, but she hates Shreya. Will Maya be able to come together with Shreya, resolve her differences for the sake of her children? And will Shreya be able to make a good mom to these superb kids after Maya?
Analysis
The film speaks of mediocrity and is not even close to its original, Stepmom. The drama is just over the top at a lot of places which it mostly is in every other

and the same way, songs are just forcefully included. The movie is genuinely not bad; it makes you cry in some parts and laugh in some others.
Star Performances
Although Stepmom was a huge hit in it’s time, We Are Family is hardly able to recreate the magic. Though Kajol does justice to Susan Sarandon’s role, Kareena Kapoor is hardly able to create the charm that Julia Roberts did because, in the end, those are tough shoes to fill.

is charming as always, and the kids are a delight to watch.
What’s There?
1. Emotion and that too lots of it.
2. The marvelous relation between a mother and her children at different ages, wonderfully performed by Kajol.
3. Kareena Kapoor’s and Arjun Rampal’s sizzling chemistry.
What’s not there?
1. The same old magic or even a new form of magic that such a good star cast could create.
2. Lack of depth as shown in Stepmom. You could feel that film with all your senses.
Verdict
Watch this movie only if you truly, truly love authentic Bollywood drama and also, Karan Johar.
