Plot
The movie is set 4 years after Tanu and Manu got married. Presently, they are going through some rough patches in their marriage. One of the events leading to Manu being taken into custody by doctors regarding his mental health, him asking Tanu for divorce and her returning to her hometown, Kanpur.
Manu reaches Delhi for giving a medical speech and comes across his wife’s look-alike, Kusum (also known as Datto). Manu instantly falls in love with this Haryanvi student- athlete and decides to ask her family for her hand in marriage. Tanu gets to know of this.
Does Tanu stop the marriage from happening? Do Tanu and Manu ever get back together? Watch this movie to find out.
Analysis
This movie maintains its standards with the prequel and manages to keep the viewers hooked. Lots of funny moments, witty dialogues, festival celebrations, addictive songs and dances are offered in this film, along with some incredible performances. It shows us the dark shades of married life and what living in a patriarchal society with no say for women, is like.
Star Performances
Kangana Ranaut has once again shown us that she is one of the reigning queens of Bollywood. She makes portraying two different women on screen, seem effortless. R. Madhavan does a great job too, portraying Manu.
All the other actors, supporting the storyline, have also satisfied their roles very well. Together, all of them make an unlikely pair look more and more likely.
What’s there?
1. Stunning performances, clever one-liners, entertaining and gripping scenes.
2. Festival celebrations, dances, and songs with a lot of masalas.
3. Shows both sides of a coin.
What’s not there?
1. A little illogical with the whole look-alike storyline.
Verdict
All-in-all, a lot of emotions packed in one movie. A must-watch, just for its spell-binding performances and witty dialogues.
