Plot
Taarzan: The Wonder Car is Abbas-Mustan’s fantasy action thriller where a young man, Raj, played by Vatsal Sheth, refits an old car for himself, only to discover the car is possessed by the spirit of his dead father. The car itself was christened Taarzan, it is not just a car, it is an entity capable of taking revenge for his father’s death. The plot derives from a series of murders of people implicated in the death of the protagonist’s father, in which the car is used.
Star Performance
In his first through, Sheth gives pretty good account of himself in the lead role but fails to provide the character of Raj a personality. Another newcomer is Ayesha Takia and she does look quite cute as Priya though her role is very much limited to that of the heroine. The most essential character of the movie is the car, Taarzan, shown through extensive use of Computer Graphics, and at times even body doubles. Analysis
Taarzan: The Wonder Car is a fantasy, action, and romantic movie, but it has poor storytelling and too exaggerated. The idea of a possessed car on the rampage is a neat idea, which is marred by a weak script and more so, direction. Even Abbas-Mustan, who have made their mark through thrillers look out of their depth with this kind of fantasy. The sequences that are stretched far too thin with no sense of proper pacing are few and far between but on the other hand, there are sequences which are crammed up. While the filmmakers tried to include quite lengthy CGI sequences that were innovative in that year, they look now relatively primitive and do not interact well with the filming. The music score of Himesh Reshammiya at least offers a couple of great songs but these are not enough to enhance the experience of the particular film.

Verdict
Taarzan: The Wonder Car had something which could have been a great fantasy ride but the movie fails in all departments with a lousy script and patchy direction. After all, although containing a rather unique storyline – a haunted car, it cannot be considered as a good film for the younger generation. It might suffice as passable entertainment for those wanting an equal share of action and fantasy, but that will be about it.
