CAST & CREW
A movie completely about the lives and lies of Bollywood lifestyle..that's Heroine for you.
Mahi Arora (Kareena Kapoor) is an ambitious Bollywood heroine. The movie starts with her getting thrown out of her car at night and while, lodging her complaint; she goes into a flashback of her life with her ex-lover Aryan (Arjun Rampal).
Heroine is about fame and glory and the highs and lows of actors and actresses. Madhur Bhandarkars’s previous movies ( Page 3, Fashion, etc.) reflect in Heroine. It has his strong touch in every little part. The heroine, Mahi Arora(Kareena Kapoor) has a bad childhood and a decimated family. She subjects herself to alcohol abuse. Her relationships always turn out sour. She is very insecure about her position in her industry, and as she desperately holds on to it, she worsens her situation. She is very hateful and jumps to conclusions and gets provocative at the slightest move. We have a film about the film industry here.
Kareena Kapoor as Mahi Arora tries really hard to capture the attention of the crowd with her good looks and aura. She acted really well in parts where she had no makeup against in parts where she had a lot of makeup on.
1. An eye opener on the happenings of Bollywood.
2. Good acting by most of the cast.
3. An interesting premise.
What's not there?
Sometimes, the movie seems too melodramatic.
We all have that phase where we want to watch movies that inspire us in a very different way, that tell us not to lose hope even when our life is in the deepest pile of waste; this is the movie you should watch to get some hope, because after seeing this movie, you’ll think “ Yaar, if they can make such a bad movie and still earn money, why can’t I?” There is a dialogue by Kareena Kapoor,” my life is fully under control”, however, this movie is in total contradiction to those lines.
