‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ On The Same Path As ‘The Tashkent Files’?

Some films hit the jackpot in the very first hour of the release! Other films are like biryani; they take their own sweet time but emerge as movies that cannot be ignored. 

Randeep Hooda’s ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ falls in the other category. Despite the limited screenings, delayed censor certificate, a clash with ‘Madgaon Express’, and an organized hate campaign against this film, the film has refused to give up!

According to the latest reports, the film has earned almost 11 crores in gross domestic collections, and almost 13 crores in overseas collections. This is no mean feat for a movie, which does not have the luxury of a festive release, ample screens, and above all, good marketing. This is also brilliant since the budget of the movie is not more than 20 crores.
