What we have here is a critic’s delight. ‘Help!’ is exactly what people scream when they are watching the movie.
Plot
For starters, it has a very damaged and unappreciated storyline. , who looks bored almost throughout the movie. If you want seeing dead people coming alive, plots that will give you goosebumps, and mind boggling ghost scenes, this is the one for you.
Analysis:
Bollywood is famous for its varied horror movies in which people are seen to reincarnate, ghosts are seen, souls have unfulfilled wishes, so they kill people who are alive. Unfortunately, Help is not much different from all these kinds of movies. It has a plot that makes very little sense at the end; we have the horror that is sometimes spine-chilling, and sometimes unbelievable. Music is quite complimentary to the movie.
Star Performances:
Bobby Deol as Vic looks quite half-hearted in the movie, but the real show stealer is Mughdha Godse. She captivates the audience with her stupendous acting as Pia. She tries to make the film a bit alive with her genuine impersonation of the lost spirit’s sister. Shreyas Talpade’s cameo of the expert parapsychologist is commendable. He actually gave justification to his role in the movie. Everyone else also acted pretty well.
What’s there?
1. Genuine horror scenes that can make you alarmed throughout the movie.
2. Good music
3. A very juicy and mysterious plot
4. A lot of suspense, till the end.
What’s not there?
1. Sometimes the horror looks unbelievable.
2. There are scenes that leave you yawning at the screen wondering why you were subjected to this incredible cliché moment.
Verdict
If seeing lost souls and hearing screams from unknown sources is what gives you the “chills,” this one is for you. Although it is just a one time watch.
