Plot: The story is about a lady Ishani (Mahima Choudhary) who was the mastermind behind her daughter’s, murder. The flick showcases all the phrases of Ishani's life, from her troubled childhood, to her being sexually abused by her stepfather. Also, her two troubled marriages are shown and then her journey of being one of the biggest names in this media industry after marrying Victor Banerjee. When her daughter from her first marriage returns in her life, she along with her driver (Rajesh Sharma) murders her. The rest of the movie unfolds her intentions behind the killing and proceedings of the court.
Analysis: We can understand Agnidev's intention behind directing this film. He wants to tell people the unknown facts behind this high-profile murder case. Also, in recent times director's are following this genre making movies in cases which attracted media a lot. After Meghna Gulzar's Talwar, it's Agnidev Chatterjee's 'Dark Chocolate.' But unfortunately, the movie disappoints. From casting to direction, the flick lacks in every department. You'll be struggling in the whole film to find a connection between the scenes.
Poor editing is a big minus. Its a loud flick whereas we don't feel any need of it. Also its a short project, so an attempt is made to cover every possible aspect in these 92 minutes because of which movie seems too fast.
Star Performances: It stars actors like Mahima Choudhary, Riya Sen, Rajesh Sharma who have been in this industry for a long time. But they haven't contributed their best in this flick. This is Mahima's debut in Bengali cinema, but she is not at her best. Riya Sen plays the role, Rina, originally Sheena but fails to leave an impact on the audience. She is good in few scenes but overall she let fails to do justice to her role. What's not there ????
1. The direction of this film is a failed attempt as there is no connection between the scenes.
2. Below average editing is one of the major reason behind the failure of this project.
3. Leading characters fail to keep hold of the flick and are impressive only in bits.
Verdict: If you have followed this case closely, then you won't like the movie. But even if you are new to this case, it would be better to rely on internet and newspapers to get a closer view of the reality instead of investing on this flick.Â
