Introduction: Billu is the name of the protagonist played by Irfan. He has played the role of a barber, living a contented life with his wife and two children.

Plot: He has portrayed the life of a poor man who is striving to cope up with his poverty issues and, on the other hand, his childhood friend, now a superstar Sahir Khan, played by Shah Rukh Khan. Both of them being childhood friends, Billu traces the day back when he helped Sahir to establish a career in films in Mumbai. Billu’s sadness and insecure feeling act as a barrier for his family worries. Life doesn’t stay the same for both them. It demands a change when Sahir who is a well-known star arrives at the village where Billu lives for a film shooting. The social life and economic backwardness somehow stop Billu from approaching Sahir.

Review: Director Priyadharshan has created an emotional connect and a mixture of feelings when these two characters of different lifestyle and living intersect. Lara Dutta, who has played the role of Billu's wife, has fitted into the character with her simple appeal and natural acting. Somehow, Songs did not impress everyone. This movie did not disappoint Shah Rukh Khan’s diehard fans. It was a visual treat and excitement element along with the glamour factor. Few humorous dialogues do catch out attention. The story and casting of this film are solely responsible for the above average result. The performance of supporting actors such as Om Puri and Rajpal Yadav is appreciable. Being a remake from the Malayalam blockbuster movie Kadhaparayumbol, Priyadharshan did make our watch worth it. Whereas, in its Tamil remake Kuselan some magic seemed missing.

Conclusion: It could have taken a better stand if the pace of the movie was faster and there were fewer songs.  The movie could be watched once.
