Plot
Sisters as the name suggests is about two siblings,Kate(Tina Fey) and Maura Ellis (Amy Poehler) who share nothing in common except for their last name. The sisters are brought to reality when they realize that their parents are selling the family's childhood home, the one which holds quite many memories for both of them. In the flow of emotions, they decide to throw a house party like no other - their attempt to relive those old days.
As they start planning, things go out of control bringing out chaos and humour to the viewers. Also, in this closed proximity, the sisters confront the unresolved issues between them and aim to start anew.
This film brings out the theme of sisterhood and nurturing love, among the family. It is an emotion-packed film with humor sprinkled on top of it.
Star Performances
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are known to be the face of comedy when they appear in live shows. That chemistry certainly showed in their characters as Kate(Tina Fey) and Maura Ellis (Amy Poehler), they have a hold over the audience. Also, John Cena's cameo as an ever-tough guy is an exciting watch.
Analysis
Sisters gained the audience's attention as it included Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on one screen that too as contrasting siblings. As the sisters reconcile to throw a bash before their childhood home is sold off, they come face to face with their past issues and vow to resolve them to start anew.
The movie itself doesn't lack humor, it is funny and promises a good laugh occasionally. But the problem lies with its script. It follows the same cliche plot, a party gone wrong, and disputes between the family, it lacks a catchy ploy. If any additional subplot had been introduced it would make this movie more gripping and humorous but since there isn't, it does falter when it comes to the art of storytelling.

If you are looking for a comic movie to lighten your mood binge on Sisters, it will surely brighten up your day. But don't walk in with high hopes the film can be uninteresting at times.
