Introduction: “Life as We Know It “could have been the “Life we Loved Knowing of” but instead went with “Life We Would Love to Ignore.” So, the movie has an interesting concept and has more of a storyline I should say, which sadly pans out.
Plot Holly Berenson ( Katherine Heigl As she made back to back movies about relationship >> Read More... ) runs a food shop in Atlanta, and Eric Messer (Josh Duhamel) is a carefree cocky womaniser stuck as a sports jock who just wants a hand at women. Disaster happens when both of them get hooked for a blind date arranged by their friends and it completely fails, thus making Holly leave in disgust. Life as We Know It takes a U-turn, and these are brought together not by their friends this time but fate. Their two friends who were married, die in a car accident. They leave their only baby in the hands of these two on a condition that both of them have to live together in the same house. Now, that’s a trouble knowing that you have to live with a person who already shares a disastrous past with you. Oh My! That’s a twist that we were all expecting.
Review: This movie has everything a fanatic of romantic comedy could ask for, to top it over with a brilliant screenplay and nice cinematography. I don’t know where this movie went wrong, or maybe I could tell. Maybe the sluggish scenes are responsible for this, or the occasional brakes in the romantic carousel of Heigl and Duhamel. Yes. There are noticeable sparks between the two that once were not on talking terms because of their respective attitude but yes slowly this cute baby lubricates the friction between the two. What I liked the most is the concept that two people get hitched by fate. They had earlier loathed each other; we too would have encountered these things and probably this is where the movie makes its mark. I would not say this movie is ordinary nor would I claim it to be an extraordinary movie but yes it can be enjoyed, only if you have not seen other gripping heart-touching movies that are seemingly not dull like this movie, that could have been better regarding romance and comedy.
Conclusion: Of course, a romantic comedy has comedy dissolved in bouts of love but this would never give you that kick and maybe after the interval you might be like-“Okay, Enough!” but that is my opinion and who know many might enjoy this movie.
