The last film that I saw of Chloe Grace Mortez was the “Dark Shadows .“ Interestingly this movie deals with the same concept that she previously was in, The Vampires. Now most of us would already have watched tons of Vampire movies(Van Helsing, Bram Stoker’s Dracula anyone?) but yes, this movie is fresh and full of energizing thrills.
Owen, a 12-year-old kid is unhappy with his life filled with bullies and loneliness meets Abby(Chloe Grace) who has recently moved in, they develop a friendly relation between them, communicating in Morse Code and things. But things take an ugly turn when sudden killings start happening, and the people around including Owen have no clue, and then a horrible truth unfolds in front of him in the form of Abby, who is a Vampire. Boom!
Were you not expecting the above line won’t you? Well, neither was I but Chloe Oh Chloe!! The way her screen presence mesmerizes is a complete fun to watch. Of course, she was not a vampire in her previous movie that is dark shadows but still she catches on the brilliance left by Johnny Depp in that movie. The cinematography is quite appreciable in this movie, and the camera angles add to the spooky atmosphere created by Chloe and her fangs, of course if this had not been present in the film, the film would have emerged dull and colorless so hats off to the camera guy. One more thing is the linking of one scene to other which is quite good. The bonding between Abby and Owen is pleasant, and the audience would instantly connect to that because it is a pure romantic bond between them. Also, the movie is dark as well as romantic as Abby is a relentless blood sucking machine but still has a soft corner for Owen even after realizing that she is a vampire. I would like to point out that during the movie's start, there is an unraveled mystery till the end. The person who falls from the hospital building top has some connection with Abby but still it is not clear till the very end. Before jumping off he had a note left back which went like-“I am sorry Abby!” But the reason for an apology is not clear.
My final say would be to watch this movie as it has got a thrill, romance, the darkness that is ominously present, and, of course, sweet “BLOODY” Chloe.
