Plot
The story of the horror movie House of Spoils, focuses on the life of a professional chef, who dreams to start her restaurant, where food can be prepared from farm fresh vegetables and she can win the Meraki award with her excellent culinary talent. Ariana DeBose’s dreams turn into a nightmare after the launch of her new restaurant in a remote place where she feels the presence of supernatural elements. As the story proceeds further, Ariana DeBose gets to know about the mysterious disappearance of the previous restaurant owner and unfolds a mysterious garden of herbs in her backyard. But slowly her mental state deteriorates and she gets stuck between the reality of her ambitions and the creepy hallucinating visions. What do you think are the hallucinations for real? The role of Ariana DeBose as a chef portrays a person who is stuck between her professional dreams and paranormal activities taking place in her newly owned restaurant. Her determined and high-will powered thoughts start to deteriorate when she finds out about the restaurant’s mysterious past. Ariana DeBose has done justice to the role with her extraordinary performance on screen and has managed to mesmerise the viewers.
Analysis
The theme of the film emphasises on an inspiring and renowned chef who is determined to launch her own restaurant in a remote location in the states. And to fulfil her dreams Ariana buys and restructures an old restaurant, to embark on a new journey, but soon her dreams crumble down as soon as she comes across some supernatural powers that create hallucinations in her mind. Ariana can be juggling between her dreams and paranormal actions. The presence of supernatural elements is portrayed in a manner that seems real and scary.
