This movie was chosen and awarded in the 72nd International Film Festival, which is held at Venice. This movie was chosen as the “Cinema for Human Rights”. Indian movies are being respected only through such works like that of Vetri Maran’s. Riccardo Noury, the spokesperson of Amnesty International Italy said, “No other movies dealt with the human rights like Visaranai and this film is very sensitive and original too”. Rama Lingam’s cinematography was also widely appreciated by everyone. By watching such films, international movie makers would like to make a film that is of Indian Standard! Hats off to you Vetri!
