Thol Thirumavalavan, the leader of Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi, says that the happenings on yesterday’s floor test have brought disrespect to the democracy. He said, “A lot of unexpected and unwanted things happened in the assembly when it was arranged for a floor test to prove the majority of the new government. This has embarrassed the people, who respect the democracy. DMK People has ill-treated the Speaker and the opposition leader was ill-treated by the assembly guards. DMK people were expelled out from the assembly. VSK strongly opposes all the happenings that were against the democracy. If the ruling party firmly believes that they will win the trust vote, then why couldn’t they opt for a secret ballot? If the Speaker had agreed for the secret ballot, those unwanted happenings might not have taken place.”
