Tamilnadu Farmers Association Accolades Kathukutti Director Saravanan!

“Kathukutti” movie has reached the people of Tamilnadu, reasonably. After the release of the movie, the Tamilnadu Government has banned the Methane Project. This film has changed the people a lot and everyone, who saw the movie turned into protestors against the Methane project. As the movie discusses the worries and hurdles of the farmers, the farmers respond to this movie, much. Recently, they held a meeting and honored the “Kathukutti” director M. Saravanan. He was honored with the title, “Son of the Soil” and the function was held at Thiruchitrambalam of Thanjavur district. The director M. Saravanan belongs to the village named, Punalvasal. The villagers of Punalvasal were also invited to the function. Tamilnadu Farmers Association’s Thanjavur President Balasundram says that Saravanan has rendered much to the society through this film than as a journalist. He also requested Saravanan to make more movies that tell the people’s problems that will get a definite solution. Advocate Balasubramanian said that this movie deals with the Agricultural loans, Methane exploitation, Farmers’ death, electricity issues, politics, carelessness of the Police department and caste issues. He also lauded Saravanan for taking the risk in his first attempt. Then the mike was handed over to Saravanan. “I am a son of an agricultural wager. With the agricultural wages, I studied till twelfth standard. I always wanted my first directorial must be about the land and its issues. As I know the hurdles in agriculture, I took this topic. In fact, this is the voice of the farmers. As I got good hearted producers, I am standing in this place. Sundara Paripooranan helped me to release the film in such a complicated situation. The laurels and the appreciations, which I get, belongs to him. I have been suffering mentally. This function soothes me, really. I will definitely try to bring more good movies,” said the director. Saravanan’s teachers were honored on the stage along with Saravanan’s family members.
