Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, will also be the CEO of Alphabet, the parent company of Google. The co-founders of Alphabet, Mr Page and Mr Brin stepped down as the CEO and President, respectively. They suggested Sundar Pichai to be the CEO and promised that they would be the board members and the shareholders of the company. They also stated that they are happy about the leadership of Sundar Pichai in Google and Alphabet.
As Sundar becomes the CEO now, the Alphabet CEO Post is filled, but the President's post is left vacant. Sundar Pichai will continue as Google’s CEO too. Mr Page and Mr Brin still hold more than 50% of Alphabet’s voting shares. Mr Page is said to hold 42.9% of Class B shares and 26.1% of voting power in the company and Mr Brin is said to hold 41.3% of Class B shares and 25.2% of the voting power of Alphabet.
