Suriya Sivakumar and RJ Balaji’s collaboration has got a title.
The movie is titled Karuppu, with some portions of the films already shot. The movie marks the reunion of Suriya Sivakumar and Trisha Krishnan after more than 23 years. The last film that they worked together on was Mounam Pesiyadhe, which was also her theatrical debut in a full fledged role.
Interestingly, Karuppu is also RJ Balaji’s debut as a director. The RJ turned actor had previously worked on films like Mookuthi Amman and Veetla Vishesham, which was a remake of the Bollywood classic Badhaai Ho. However, he was the co director of the movie alongside NJ Saravanan. Apart from directing this movie, RJ Balaji will also be writing the story and screenplay for this movie alongside Rathna Kumar, who is known for movies like Master, Vikram, Coolie, Leo, and the upcoming movie Sardar 2.
For Suriya Sivakumar and Trisha Krishnan, Karuppu is make or break. Suriya Sivakumar avoided another Kanguva with Retro. However, the movie wasn’t a blockbuster success either. On the other hand, Trisha Krishnan has been suffering a severe crisis, with one movie tanking at the box office after the other, be it Vidaamuyarchi, or her latest release Thug Life.
