The Tamilnadu Government had sent a petition to the President to release the seven accused in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. They had been spending more than two decades in Tamilnadu Prison for the assassination case. But, the President rejected Tamilnadu government’s petition and hence the prisoners had to continue their jail term

An announcement from Maneka Gandhi: Maneka is the Indian Union Cabinet Minister for Women And Child Development. She announced that the non-resident Indians should register their marriage within seven days when they marry an Indian. If they didn’t register before the said time, they would not be provided with the passport and visa, announced Maneka.
