Although the film had been receiving the mixed reviews, the collection has been good, so far in Chennai. Although the film hadn’t crossed the BO collection made by “Vijay” movie “Mersal,” Kaala ranks top in Chennai box office. While some say that the film created a huge loss, some others say that it made the investors get back the invested amount. The film had been doing well in Australia, US and some other overseas locations. The collection record of Kaala in Chennai is Rs. 10.2 crores at the end of two weeks and this is the great record. It is to be noted that no other films did this record in Chennai. It is expected that the film might collect 4 more crores in Chennai.
