. He said that the government had cut the excise duty by Rs. 1.5 and the oil companies had reduced Re 1 and so, the fuel prices would come down by Rs. 2.5. If the state governments adjust the VAT, the prices of the fuel might further sink by Rs. 2.5 and hence, the fuel price would come down by Rs. 5.

government that they had raised the excise duty by Rs. 10 and reducing it just by Rs. 2.5. He also said that the government should reduce the excise duty further and hence the fuel price would reduce to Rs. 10 per litre.
