', already wrapped up its shoot. But the film is glued with controversy about its plot and so the release of the film was put on the shelf. The Kochi Times is investigating the issue.
Salim also donned the script of the film and he said it is a story about the 50 years of migration to the Gulf of the Malayali. But the UAE-based NRI got a stay order on the film and claims that Pathemari is based on his story. The director divulged that even from the time he announces the project, there has been allegations coming from different circuits. So far, there are three people who came to him with the same issue. He also heard that someone is having a press conference in Muscat, Irikkur and also in Kannur over the same allegations.
Salim also remembers that the same incident happened before his National Award winning film, Adaminte Makan Abu releases, but the issue dies after the release of the film. Pathemari will feature Mammootty opposite
