Raj B Shetty Addresses The ‘Sandalwood’ Crisis

It’s been more than half a year since 2024 began, and Sandalwood aka Kannada cinema is suffering from a serious cinema. Even though Tamil cinema is no better, at least there are a few exceptions like ‘Maharaja’, ‘ Captain Miller Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ etc., which earn enough to be clean commercial successes.

As such, when asked about the Sandalwood crisis, Kannada star Raj B Shetty minced no words. He called for a serious introspection, while maintaining that it would be futile to blame the audience for turning up to the theatres.

According to Raj, if the audience likes a film, there’s no stopping them. You can’t force the people to watch a bad movie, indirectly taking a jibe at the approach of certain filmmakers. Raj B Shetty is himself a multi talented artist, including being a good writer and director, so he knows how things work.

Recently, Raj B Shetty was seen in the Malayalam black comedy ‘ Turbo Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, which starred Mammootty in the lead role. While the film wasn’t a commercial success, Raj was appreciated for his unconventional role. He is currently awaiting the release of ‘Roopanthara’, for which he has also written the dialogues and the songs.
