playing lead roles. The film was remade in Telugu and also became a hit. Now it is being made in Kannada with top stars Upendra and Sudeep playing Paresh and Akshay’s respective roles. Sudeep plays Lord Krishna while Upendra sues God.
The Hindi film had to face many cases as it was said to hurt religious sentiments and so the Kannada film will have half of the scenes replaced. Three production houses, viz., Kichcha Creations, Jayashreedevi Productions and N Kumar Productions have come together to produce the film.

This will be the director's 2nd film with Sudeep after Ranna and his first with Upendra. The director is not bothered about potential opposition on the grounds of religious sentiments. He feels that the Telugu film was a hit and did not face any problems. Besides, much has been changed in the film though the gist of the story is maintained. Upendra maintains his projected image of atheist, his statements against traditions and Gods and his cult messages. The Hindi film was even banned in the UAE.
