Mani Ratnam, the maverick director, has been busy shooting his next film titled Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. The film has Jyothika Saravanan, Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, “Silambarasan,” Aishwarya Rajesh, Arun Vijay, Aditi Rao Hydari and Dayana. The director was honored by the Karnataka government for rendering services to the film industry. He was awarded the Life Time Achiever award with a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs at the Bengaluru International Film Festival. He returned the cash prize and requested the team to utilize the fund to help the upcoming directors. A great man isn’t it! Mani Ratnam said that he is proud to have started his career in Kannada. Yes, Mani Ratnam started his career in Sandalwood as a director. He made his first film Pallavi Anu Pallavi in Kannada with Anil Kapoor and Lakshmi Narayan in the lead roles.
