A resignation letter by the CM had been shared and it is addressed to the Governor of Karnataka and it mentioned, “Due to my personal reasons, I’m tendering my resignation from the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka. Kindly accept my resignation and relieve the council of the Minister of Karnataka appointed by me on 22/07/2019.” When inquired to the CM office, it is heard that the resignation news is fake.
Earlier, Kumaraswamy had requested the Governor, a two-day time to conduct the vote of confidence. The strength of Kumaraswamy’s ruling government has 102 MLAs, whereas BJP has 105 MLAs and 2 independent MLAs. The government had been facing a tough time for more than ten days when the MLAs who supported Kumaraswamy withdrew their support.
