Special Camps Come To The Rescue Of Chennaites

Special Camps Come To The Rescue Of Chennaites Tamil Article

Chennai is gradually getting back to normalcy after facing the ire of nature through floods. The rains have indeed caused a lot of mental stress and damage to the Chennaites. Many families have lost significant documents in nature’s disaster.

Well, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel for such issues. Yes, now there are free legal service departments that cater to this special need of lost documents in floods. Justice R Sudhakar, who is the chairperson of the Madras High Court Legal Services Committee, had earlier provided assurance in this line.
Over 5600 individuals lost their important papers including voter IDS, licenses, Aadhar cards, land documents, LPG connection cards, passports, bank passbooks and mark sheets in nature’s disaster. The initiative of the State Government and various other Central agencies about the provision of these important papers is commendable.
According to the notification by Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, the certificate issuing centres are conducted free of cost, and they would be open for the affected from December 14 to December 28, 2015, to the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore and Kanchipuram. The affected will get the applications from the workers of several State Government Departments and Central government. Subsequently, they will receive a duplicate copy in place of the lost papers freely in a span of one week. Public service centres are also active in this service.

Once the affected fills the application form, he/she would be provided with a receipt. After validating the applications, the duplicates would be given to the affected within one week. The affected would be informed through mobile once the duplicates are ready. Eventually, they can go to the respective centres and get the duplicates Bank pass books, and LPG gas connections can be received from the banks and gas centres respectively. The special camps would be held from 10 am to 5 pm.
In fact, there are several Chennaites who lost all their documents. For those who go to office by vehicles, it thus becomes mandatory to have a license. So the government-held camps are indeed a relief for such people since it came at the right time. The affected can provide whatever copies they have with them to the people in charge. This is in fact done keeping in mind that the affected would have lost most of their documents or all their documents in the rain (since the first thought that would run in their mind is to save their lives) In the case of land papers, they can provide the address. In the case of losing every document, the affected can give the phone numbers and contact addresses.

Chennaiites can gain access to the free duplicate papers from 10 taluk offices. These offices are in Purasawalkam (3, Raja Muthiah Salai, Perayamedu (near Nehru Stadium) , Ayanavaram (25, United India Colony, First Main Road), Chetpet (88, Mayor Ramanathan Salai), K K Nagar (new no. 1, old no. 2, Bharathidasan Colony) , Perambur (Perambur High Road, Near Perambur Railway Station), Koyambedu (Close to Kurangaleeswarar Temple), Saidapet (no. 370, Anna Salai), Taramani (IRT Campus), Raja Annamalai Puram (28, Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Devar Road) and Thandayarpettai (Near Apollo Hospital). In the same way, the affected people of Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Sriperembudur, Thiruporur, Tambaram, Thirukazhukundram, Uthukottai, Shozinganallur, Ambattur and Ponneri can also make use of the privilege.

The students who have lost the notebooks can get them from the government. Also, for those who have lost their mark sheets and certificates special camps are conducted for getting the duplicates free of cost. This is as per the instruction of the honorable Chief Minister Ms J Jayalalitha. The student just have to provide the name of the school, year and month of passing to the authorities who will eventually recover their mark sheets from a database maintained by them. However, one hiccup is that only the records of the last ten years are digitized.
Aadhar cards could easily be downloaded from the website www.uidai.co.in . One has just to input the Aadhar number in the given space. Today being the first day for reissue the lost and damaged papers there was a huge crowd in the camps.
