Kollywood Actresses Who Dub For Themselves

Dubbing has always been a scary task for Tamil actresses. Apparently this is because they aspire for perfection and are not sure whether their voices would be an advantage to them. However, there are numerous Tamil actresses, who have dubbed for themselves, and have capitalized on their voice. Shall we look at such beauties who succeeded in this “mission”?

1. Asin Thottumkal

Asin is undoubtedly a talented actress. But what one may not know is that she has dubbed in her own voice for all the films she has worked on. Whether it is in Malayalam (which is her mother tongue), Tamil, or Hindi, she adds charm to her character through her voice. And yes, her voice is appealing!

2. Meera Jasmine

​Meera is known for her realistic performances. Apart from Malayalam, she has acted in some good films in Tamil too. Meera is a Malayali by birth, but she spoke her own lines in the critically acclaimed Mani Ratnam film Aayutha Ezhuthu. Even 'Esha Deol' dubbed for herself in this movie whiich is highly appreciable.

3. Sneha

Sneha knows Tamil well, and she has dubbed for herself in the Cheran starrer Pirivom Santhippom. Later, this beauty with a charming smile decided against dubbing.

4. Priyamani

​Priyamani was felicitated with the National Award for her film, Paruthiveeran; and she dubbed for that film in her own voice.

5. Trisha Krishnan

Trisha has been active in the industry for over a decade. Although she knows Tamil well she has only dubbed for three Tamil films including Mankatha, Manmadhan Ambu and Azhutha Ezhuthu. Well, we would love to hear Trisha’s voice again, given that she is fluent in Tamil.

6. Nayantara

Nayanara, who is considered the Lady Superstar, also seem to have realized the importance giving a real effect for her characters. She dubbed for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, a film whcih fetched her the Best Actress Filmfare Award.

7. Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Samantha is one of the actresses who gives her hundred percent in whatever she takes up. She had dubbed her own lines for the filck Neethaane En Ponvasantham.She also went on to win the Filmfare Award for that film. And not to miss the Vikram starrer 10 Enrathukulla also where she dubbed for herself.
