The movie is a frightening tale from the case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The frightening house set-up, creepy hide and seek games and all those sudden ghostly experiences will definitely make you jump from the seat!!

5. A Nightmare On Elm Street

The story is about a serial killer, who stalks the teenagers of the neighborhood and brings them to their death while they’re asleep safe in their beds! The American dub of a Japanese terrifying movie captivated the audience upon its release. The movie revolves around a curse popular in Japanese culture. The movie is followed by many sequels but the original first is the best of its kind. This definitely gave a new definition to the word “Horror”. From the dreadful background noise that comes just before the appearance of the ghost to the ghastly ways of her walking upside down on the stairs, each moment will keep you on the edge. 8. When A Stranger Calls

A girl during her babysitting job, receives eerie calls from a stranger asking her if she has checked on the babies, while the beautiful house has been all locked with the alarm system. Fear escalates to terror when while tracing the call, the police informs her that the call is coming from inside the house! This thriller show made me scream on top of my voice. After all what’s scarier than someone calling from within the house while you thought you are all alone!!

The movie recently had its remake which did full justice to the original classic of its time. It is surprisingly terrifying, and you may want to stay away from the TV for a very long time!

10. The Omen

The horror drama is another classic from the 70s. The plot of the movie is about an adopted little boy Damien and mysterious incidents that plague him. While in due course his family realizes that he is an antichrist, the story takes a drastic turn in the second half. The director has worked on the plot with utmost carefulness. Many remakes of the movie have been made till this date but the original will give you the most chilling and frightening experience! You won’t be able to forget the creepy stares of the little boy very soon!
