Sana Yadi Reddy

Born in Gullakota village, Telangana to Sana Gopaiah and Sana Laxmi, Sana Yadi Reddy is an advocate, practicing in lower as well as higher courts of Andhra Pradesh since 1984. Beyond this, he is also a film writer, director, and a producer. He completed his primary education at his native place in Karimnagar district. For his upper education, he went to a better school.

He completed his graduation from Badruka College, Hyderabad and he achieved LLB degree from Osmania University of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. In 1984, he enrolled himself in Bar Counsel of Hyderabad as a professional advocate. But we never know about destiny. In 1996, he made his debut as a film director and producer, and it was a smashing entry in the film industry. He directed a folklore drama named ‘Pittala Dora’ (picturized on village backdrop where the protagonist is a beggar who falls in love with a rich girl, it is the story-telling that makes it remarkable) which turned out to be a blockbuster. It begged the regional awards in Tollywood for being the best debut director and best screenplay. Not only this, the film came out to be best comedy entertainer.

He directed three super hit films after his first hit. In 1997, his movie ‘Jai Bajaranga Bali’ was released, in which the protagonist was portrayed as a strong and bold character. In the year 1998, ‘Prema Pallaki’ was released, then in 1999, ‘Bachelors’ was released.

In the year 2000, he released a blockbuster love and family entertainer movie ‘Sampangi’ (depicting the sacrifices and compromises involved in love). This movie received positive reviews from the audience as well as the critics. Not only the reviews were great, the movie also grossed a Nandi Award for the Best Male Dubbing Artist. This consistent success gave birth to a new banner, Sana Creations.

‘Kuchi Kuchi Koonamma’, one of his most successful films was released in the year 2001. The movie received the Nandi Award for the Best Children’s Film Category. These movies established Sana Yadi Reddy as one of the leading film directors-producers in Tamil industry. His current residence is Jubilee Hills, Telangana.

In his movies, it is the story telling which is always unique. He also wrote the scripts of few films like ‘Ishq Hai Tumse’. It is in news that Sana Yadi Reddy is making a bilingual film with the infamous cricketer Sreesanth.
