The serial had 209 episodes and aired in 1997. Later on, the TV series released in a video format in different languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. The mythological charm of the serial for Hindu religion was enhanced by the pairs relation in a human lie, the characters and story cast a spell on the viewers which kept them glued to their screens. But then after the premiere of Doordarshan’s extremely popular Om Namah Shivay, the two TV artistes instantly tied the knot against the wishes of their respective families. Their marriage only worked for eight years. 

Gayatri also appears in a television serial “Roja,” which focuses on the character of an optimistic girl named Roja who has been raised in an orphanage. Due to unexpected circumstances, she meets with her biological father without knowing his real identity. The story also focuses on Arjun, who is a criminal lawyer and falls in love with Roja. It started premiering on 11 March 2019.

Gayathri Shastry is a South Indian film, and television actress. She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Gayathri’s family later moved to Bangalore. She gained education from VVS Sardar Patel English High School, Bangalore. Gayathri graduated in Commerce from MES College, Bangalore. Active since 1994, Shastry worked in many serials and movies. She married to Ravi. Her brother’s name is Sanjay. Gayathri made her debut in the film industry through a movie called “Paasamalargal” which was directed by Suresh Chandra Menon.

The film got produced under Tele Photo Films. She has acted in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi movies. Shastry worked in various films such as; Paasamalargal, and Rajavin Parvaiyile (Role: Shanthi). She was part of many television series and reality shows.
