Lubna Sarwath is an Indian politician, economist, and social activist and was the official candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the 2014 Indian general election from Hyderabad.
Sarwath was born in 1965 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. She initially worked as an officer in the Punjab National Bank after clearing the Probationary Officers Exam. She has a doctorate degree from Trisakti University, Jakarta, Indonesia, in Islamic Economics and Finance (IEF).She is the Editorial Assistant-cum-Referee for Humanomics, for a UK-based publication called ‘Emerald Publication’. She is also an ecological activist. She is the co-convener of SOUL (Save Our Urban Lakes), an NGO. She has participated in a lot of protests against the depletion of ecology. In 2015, she quit Aam Aadmi Party for Swaraj Abhiyan. In 2017, the Telangana State Wakf Board got its first nomination from a woman; Sarwath wanted to be part of the board. In the  2018 Telangana Legislative Assembly election, she was the official candidate of the Socialist Party (India) from the Karwan constituency.
