Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy, alias YSR, was the 14th chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. YSR served the nation from 2004 to 2009. He was born on July 8, 1949, in Pulivendula, Andhra Pradesh. He did schooling in Bellary and later went to Loyola College in Vijayawada. Moreover, Rajasekhara Reddy completed his medical studies at Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College, Gulbarga, Karnataka. Additionally, he served as a medical officer at CSI-Campbell Mission Hospital, Jammalamadugu. His father, Raja Reddy, was killed in a bomb attack on May 23, 1998. Reddy was married to Vijaya Lakshmi.
They had one son, politician Y. S. Jagan Mohan, and one daughter, Y. S. Sharmila. Reddy was elected to the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Lok Sabhas from the Kadapa constituency. He worked for the upliftment of the poor section of society. Not only this but he also initiated several schemes and policies for the betterment of his people. Reddy worked and held various positions in politics. The helicopter carrying Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy went missing in the Nallamala Forest area on September 2, 2009. The next morning, the media reported that the helicopter crashed near Kurnool. There was a saddened atmosphere in the whole country after the news of his death.
