Ravuri Bharadwaja is a Short-Story Writer, Poet, Critic, and Jnanpith Award winning Telugu Novelist. Bharadwaja was born on 5th July 1927 in Moguluru, Krishna District, India. Ravuri’s works include Phantom Quintette, Love’s Labour Lost, Ad Infinitum, Kaumudi, and Un Aankhon Ki Katha.
Ravuri Bharadwaja received Honorary doctorates from Andhra, Nagarjuna, Vignan, and Jawaharlal Nehru Technologies Universities. Ravuri also received a Central Sahitya Akademi Award, rajalakshmi Award in 1987, Lok Nayak Foundation’s Literary Award in 2009, and the 48th Jnanpith Award in 2012. Ravuri was the only third Telugu Writer to be honored with the Country’s Highest Literary Award. Ravuri died on 18th October 2013.
