Anup Rubens is a music composer in Telugu movies. He began his career with the film ‘
Jai’ which released in 2004, and it was dubbed in Tamil too as ‘Jairam’. This film's music was a hit; songs like ‘Desam Manade’ went on to become chartbusters. His next film ‘Gowtam SSC’ had released in 2005. Though, in between 2005 to 2010, he has composed music for films like ‘Drona’, ‘Hosefull’, Veedhi’, ‘Naa Style A Veru’, etc., the songs did not create much impact. Later, he was associated with many movies of Puri Jagannadh and inched a carve for himself as an established music director.
Anup Ruben’s first association with Puri Jagannadh was for film ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ (2011). The audio of the movie was well received and was declared one of the best albums in 2011. In 2011, he gave three musical hits in a row. After the success of ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’, he repeated the same magic with ‘Prema Kavali’ which again went to become a chartbuster. The music of his another film ‘Kodipunju’ was good due to cinematography that captured the green locales of Konaseema. ‘Kodipunju’ was not a hit movie, but the music was pretty good.
In 2012, a Telugu movie ‘Poola Rangadu’ had released and Anoop Rubens had scored the music for six songs in the film that was well received. In this film, for a song "Nuvvu Naku Kavali", Anoop had sung the song with Ranjith and Kousalya.The film was a hit. He had another mega hit film ‘Ishq’ in 2012, the soundtrack of the film was again composed by Anup Rubens, and the music was released on 2 February 2012 in Hyderabad. As part of publicity, a song "Lachhamma" was released on the internet before the audio release and it gained a good response. In this film, he allowed Mumbai-based singer Adnan Sami to sing a song titled ‘Oh Priya Priya.' In the same year, he scored music for ‘
Lovely’ which was also an average hit movie. The audio was launched at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad, and the soundtrack was composed by Anoop Rubens. One song’s lyrics was penned by Anoop himself which was titled ‘I Don’t Know’.
Anup’s next films included Sukumarudu (2013),
Loukyam (2014), and Manam (2014) and all were trendsetters in the musical score and fetched popularity in box office too. Anup even scored music for the Kannada version of ‘Loukyam’ which is known as ‘Ram-Leela’ that released in 2015. He was noticed composing music for two more releases in 2015 which are ‘Akhil: The Power of Jua’ and ‘
Courier Boy Kalyan.' Both the movies had garnered a poor response at the box office.
