After just six months of assisting, Sunny became an Independent Sound Engineer himself. He was just 15 years old then. The Patna-born boy went to Keerthana Digital Studio in Hyderabad, where he mixed, collaborated and produced songs. In his first six years, he mixed over 350 Albums. Most of his albums were Carnatic Classical Albums, which he at first hated working on. Later when Sunny listened to jazz music, he discovered that it is just a harmonized version Carnatic classical music. Sunny learned to differentiate the ragas and the voices throughout that six-year period. After that, he met producer Sandip Chowta and shifted to Mumbai to get more exposure.

Sunny sat with his friend Arijit Singh on the last day of submitting the new tune to the director of ‘Swami Ra Ra’ and produced hit of the year ‘Swami Ra Ra’ title track. The song topped many charts and radio stations of South India. Sunny also shot to fame with the album with all critics praising the album’s unique sound.
