Anish Kuruvilla is an Indian actor, executive producer, and director. He was born and brought up in Hyderabad. The Malayali actor completed his Higher Secondary Education from The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur.
As a child, Anish was raised in a conservative Malayali family. In his teenage years, he used to enjoy movies and Theatre. His interest in the performing arts grew with time. Despite familial discouragements, Anish decided to try his luck in Tollywood industry.
He started his journey as an actor with 2000, Drama film, "Dollar Dreams." The Sekhar Kammula directed, released in Telugu and English. Anish Kuruvilla played the lead role in the blockbuster hit. The motion picture received critical acclamation, and Anish's performance as Srinu was particularly admired.
At the 47th anniversary of the National Film Festival, "Dollar Dreams" won an award for the Best First Film of a 4-Director. The actor later starred in another Telugu film, titled, "Anand." Sekhar Kammula directed and produced the movie.
It was the first ever film to have a tagline, which translated to, "a movie that is like a cup of good coffee." Anish played the part of Raju in the picture. The movie became extremely popular and went on to receive the Nandi Award for Best Film.
Sekhar Kammula won the award for the Best Director. Anish Kuruvilla got nominated for the Best Supporting Actor. After "Anand," the actor took a break from acting for a long period of twelve years. When asked about the reason for taking a break, Anish confirmed that he needed time to be with his family and make them understand his dreams.
The actor later appeared in 2016 film, named, "Pelli Choopulu." The film is a Telugu Romantic Comedy, featuring Anish in the role of a businessman. Anish went on to make his Bollywood debut with 2016 biopic, "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story."
The motion picture received a positive response from the audiences and the critics. In 2017, Anish appeared in four films, including, "Nenu Local," "Velaikkaran," "Jawn," and "Hello." In 2018, he starred in another Telugu picture, titled, "Tej I Love You."
Along with acting in various successful films, Anish decided to try his luck in the field of film direction. In 2008, he wrote and directed a Telugu Drama, called, "Avakai Biryani." In 2012, Anish directed another Telugu film, "Ko Ante Koti." Anish Kuruvilla is Tollywood's versatile actor and director. With all his passion and determination, he has been able to make a name for himself in the Telugu film industry.
