Vijay Dharan Datla

Vijay Dharan Datla was born in Kakinada, a city in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh State, India. His father passed away, when Vijay was still a child. Since then he has been living with his mother. Vijay pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Andhra University. After which he has been active in theatre arts. He has pursued the same under Natasha Chandra for one and a half years. Vijay has also performed plays in Ravindra Bharathi.

When director Krishna Varma was conducting auditions for a movie, he came across Vijay Dharan Datla, and selected him for the movie ‘Play’, although Vijay has not formally attended any course on acting.This was Vijay’s first movie. In the movie ‘Play’, Vijay’s character name was also Vijay, who is a lover boy. But later on in the movie, many shades of him are seen. In the movie ‘Play’, though the director and actors are relatively new to the industry, their work has been well appreciated. Vijay dedicates this to his first director, Krishna Varma, for guiding him.

During his initial days of struggle, his family members were not supportive of his career interests. However, it took him eight years to get an opportunity to be the lead in his first movie itself and also to convince his family members.
