S. D. Sundharam

S D Sundharam is a famous writer. He has worked as a dialogue writer and lyricist in many films. He was born on 22 July 1921. He joined the drama troupe Nawab Rajamanickam and later joined the State College of Arts, Tiruvaiyaru, and studied literature. At the beginning of his career, he wrote a play named Kaviyin Kanavu. After this, he associated with Sakthi Krishnaswamy and staged his plays under the banner of Sakthi Nadaga Sabha. He started his writing career with the film Mohini, in which he wrote dialogues.

After this, in 1953, he and K. Vembu directed a movie named Manidhanum Mirugamum. He also produced and directed a documentary film named Singanaadham Kedkudhu and Cheena Nagam Odudhu. He got many of his poems and plays published, some of which are as follows: Nam Thaai (English: Our Mother) (Play) 1947), Vaanamudham - a collection of his poems—published in the presence of Kannadasan. K. Kamarajar presided over the event.
