Kutty Pooja is a familiar face to those who watch Tamil serials regularly for some years now. She started her acting career from an early age but came into limelight with the television serial ‘ Munthanai Mudichu’, where she played a supporting role of a character named ‘Thenmozhi’. This serial was regularly aired on Sun TV from April 2010 and it ended only recently on January 2014. Hence Pooja’s acting made her a household name among the Tamil audience. But Pooja rose to fame with the more recent TV serial ‘ Azhagi’, where she played the important role of the daughter of the female protagonist of the story. This serial was aired regularly on Sun TV from October 2011 and is continuing successfully till date. The story of this serial revolves round the struggle of a mother in bringing up her children single handedly, the role of Pooja as the eldest sibling is equally important and she is doing full justice to her role. She also lively portraits her pain when her lover marries her own cousin. She carries the emotions throughout the serial. This serial has completed more than 600 episodes till date and its popularity has remained the same as it was during the initial episodes. Azhagi has won the ‘Sun Kudumbam’ Award in the category of ‘Best Mother’ in 2012.
