Muralidhara Swamiji is also called ‘Guruji.’ He is a Hindu spiritual preceptor, philosopher, writer, and television personality from South India. He was born on the day of Deepavali on 8th November 1961. His parents are Sri Rajagopala Iyer and Smt. Savitri. They lived in a village, Manjakuppam in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. Swamiji is also known for his television appearance on DD Podhigai every Thursday at 10:10 pm. Muralidhara Swamiji believes in the philosophy of non-dualism, Advaita, which is achieved through Devotion, Bhakti towards the lord.
He believes that one’s self and inner peace and tranquility will naturally lead to universal brotherhood and harmony. He believes that the easiest way to perform the bhakti is by chanting the name of the lord. He believes that when chanting is done, the chanter and the listener get purified after chanting the divine names loudly. Muralidhara Swamiji is currently giving discourses during the morning hours at 7:15 am on the Star Vijay TV. He also established a temple for Sri Srinivasa Perumal and Sri Premika Varadan- Madhuri Sakhi.
On 16th April 1993, Swamiji started a mission that aimed at propagating Bhagavata Dharma and carrying out spiritual and religious activities that are ordained in the Shastras of Sanatan Dharma. He also established an ashram outside Chennai. On 20th October 1999, to propagate the chanting of Maha Mantra Swamiji inaugurated the Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Nama Biksha Kendra in Chennai.
