Sandhya Rajagopal has been a famous newsreader in the Tamil news channels since the 80s. She was born and brought up in Delhi. Sandhya studied in a school, which was run by Tamils, where studying Tamil as a subject is mandatory. She started her newsreader job in 1984. Sandhya was introduced to the media by Shobana Ravi, one of the leading newsreaders at that time. Sandhya considers Shobana as her mentor. She is married to Rajagopal, a singer.
